چکیده
Selective Catalytic Reduction systems (SCR) are very efficient on reducing NOx. However, they only perform properly when exhaust gas temperature is higher than 180 °C. This means that for low engine regimes combined with cold temperatures, SCR remains inactive. study presents a new approach to minimize the amount of NOx emitted by diesel engines Heavy-Duty Vehicles during and gases conditions. We propose addition an Automotive Thermoelectric Generator (ATEG) coupled electric Exhaust Gas Heater (EGH) make system inject urea solution at regimes. EGH-ATEG system, which can be retrofitted in any existing vehicle, designed energetically closed, so there no extra consumption fuel. Experimental results show emissions reduced up 80% EGH added standard diesel-powered Euro VI Heavy Duty truck configuration. Apart from that, use ATEG installed downstream aftertreatment produce energy required EGH, work autonomous independent vehicle’s electrical system. improve efficiency 55%

Design and analysis of a thermoelectric generator for a heavy-duty vehicle in real road test
Heavy duty vehicles have a great share on fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gases in the world, while they waste two third of chemical energy of fuel. On the other hand, simplicity and long life of thermoelectric generators (TEGs) are considered more and more to convert thermal energy to electrical one. In this paper a TEG designed in the exhaust system of Renault Midlum 195 Dxi Engine. Th...

متن کاملA Fuel-Based Inventory for Heavy-Duty Diesel Truck Emissions
A fuel-based method for estimating heavy-duty diesel truck emissions is described. In this method, emission factors are normalized to fuel consumption; vehicle activity is measured by the amount of diesel fuel consumed. For the San Francisco Bay Area during summer 1996, on-road heavy-duty diesel trucks were estimated at the upper bound to emit 110 × 103 kg/day of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and 3.7 ×...
